Coast Guard Portsmouth

The Coast Guard Portsmouth, VA is a division of the Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads, and it offers a number of supportive services, including administrative support. Additionally, this housing community offers support services for personnel and units within the 5th District of the U.S. Coast Guard. Some additional support services that are offered at this location are recreational services, medical supply, personnel management, warehousing and procurement as well as industrial services.

Coast Guard Station Cape Charles

The Coast Guard Station Cape Charles home is a division of the 5th district of the U.S. Coast Guard. This station's area of responsibility is expansive, covering more than 20 miles of the Atlantic coastline. Additionally, the station is also responsible for the Chesapeake Bay and all of its tributaries. This stations primary responsibilities include the execution of duties associated with homeland security, Marine Environmental Protection, Maritime Law Enforcement and search and rescue missions.

Coast Guard Station Milford Haven

This housing complex exists as on base housing at the Coast Guard Station Milford haven. There are homes for sale and houses for rent. There is also initial hotel lodging available until families are able to get settled. It is important that married members submit a housing request to the Housing Office prior to reporting to the unit. The station is located in Hudgins, VA, resting on 8.35 acres of land on Cricket Hill. This station is flanked by a number of other military installations.

Coast Guard Yorktown

This station is home to the USCG Reserve Training Center, which is responsible for training thousands of Coast Guard personnel on an annual basis. The installation is also responsible for training personnel from other armed forces units and federal agencies. Military housing is available in multiple residential neighborhoods in the Yorktown area. There is base lodging and hotel lodging available to meet the initial lodging needs of those reporting for duty. This station is located adjacent to the Naval Weapons Station in Yorktown.

Dahlgren NSWC

The Dahlgren NSWC is home to one of the premier research laboratories and development centers in the world. It is also serves as a specialty site that supports weapons integration. The military housing on this installation is privatized. The primary housing is composed of 234 homes located in a total of five separate communities. All of the properties are managed by Lincoln Military Housing. You have the choice of renting or buying. There is also base lodging and several local hotels that can be used to address temporary lodging needs. The installation is located in Dahlgren, VA, which is approximately 23 miles east of Fredericksburg, VA.

Dam Neck Naval Station

Dam Neck is a division of the Naval Air Station Oceana, and it is the location of the Naval Surface Warfare Center's Fleet Combat Training Center, Atlantic. This training center is conveniently and strategically located within 30 minutes of approximately 50 percent of the U.S. Fleet. The housing on this installation is privatized. There are a total of five residential communities that contain a total of 991 homes that can be rented or purchased. There is also temporary base lodging and local hotels to help families with their initial lodging requirements. The off-base housing is managed by Lincoln Military Housing.

Defense Health Headquarters Falls Church

The Defense Health Headquarters facility is located in Falls Church, VA, and it consists of three interconnected buildings that were built between 1950 and 1980. All three of these buildings have been completely renovated, and they house several defenses and medical elements. This base functions a part of a large military community, which means that there are multitudinous housing options. Homes are available for purchase of rental. There is also on-base lodging and local hotels to address the need for temporary lodging.

Defense Supply Center Richmond

This installation is the aviation supply and demand chain manager for the Defense Logistics Agency. Additionally, it serves as an internal element of the Department of Defense — supplying in excess of one million operating items and repair parts. Although military housing is not available at this facility, there are a number of housing options available. There are a significant number of military families that reside inside the local economy. Local hotels are also available to meet any initial lodging requirements.

Fort AP Hill

Fort AP Hills has become known as the place where America's Military sharpens its combat edge. The base is located about 90 minutes south of the National Capital Region. Resting on 76,000 acres of land, this base is one of the largest East Coast military installations which facilitates units engaging in a number training exercises, including small unit operations and major maneuvers. Currently there are a limited number of units available for Military Housing; however, there are a number of homes that may be purchased or rented. There is also base lodging and local hotels to assist with the need for temporary housing.

Fort Belvoir

Serving as a strategic sustaining base for the U.S. Army, Fort Belvoir Homes is the home to a number of high-ranking Department of Defense personnel. This base is responsible for providing intelligence, administrative support and logistical support to various agencies, commands and activities. Military housing on this base is privatized. The on-base housing ranges from homes with two to five bedrooms that are available in a number of styles, including traditional, historic and modern. The homes are managed by the Michaels Organization. There are also off-base homes which offer the option of renting or buying, and base lodging and local hotels are available to accommodate any temporary housing needs.

Fort Eustis

Fort Eustis has now merged with Langley AFB, and the base is now known as Joint Base Langley Eustis. The base is now controlled by the USAF; however, unlike other bases that are considered to be joint, the two entities are separated by 17 miles, so there is very little overlapping or personnel. The military housing at this base is privatized. The housing for this installation is located in the Hampton Roads, Newport News area of Virginia, and it consists of 980 homes that are located in a total of 10 different neighborhoods. These properties are managed by Balfour Beatty Communities. There are also local hotels and base lodging available to help families with temporary housing.

Fort Lee

This installation is home to several major commands, including the Combined Arms Support Command, the Army Logistics Management College, the Quartermaster Center and School, The U.S. Army Garrison and the headquarters for the Defense Commissary Command. Fort Lee has privatized Military housing. Housing is available in 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes. These homes are conveniently positioned within five neighborhood centers. The properties are managed by Hunt Military Communities. There is also temporary base lodging and local hotels to accommodate initial housing needs.

Fort Monroe

Fort Monroe, which is also known as Fortress Monroe has been officially designated as a National Monument by President Barack Obama. This designation, which was facilitated by a century-old law allowing the POTUS to designate military installations as national monuments, ensuring that the base's history will be preserved and it will be safe from major development in the future. Due to the designation as a national monument, there is little need for personnel housing; however, there are some homes which are being rented and sold in the area.

Fort Myer

The Fort Myer Army base has merged with the U.S. Marines' Henderson Hall, and the base is now known as Joint Base Myer Henderson Hall. This base is broad and it is composed of military installations at Crystal City, Fort McNair, the Pentagon, Fort Myer and Henderson Hall. The base serves the National Capital Region. The base's most common service is conducting official ceremonies, locally and worldwide. The housing on this base is composed of 89 historic dwelling units on Fort Myer and Fort McNair. Family housing is very limited. The officer's units have been designated as key and essential. There is base lodging and local hotels that can be used for the purpose of temporary lodging.

Fort Picket

Fort Picket is an Army National Guard training center. Although this base is geared to train military personnel, it is often used by non-military personnel for training procedures as well. Some non-military organizations that use this facility are the U.S. Marshalls, A.T.F., Virginia State Police and the FBI. There is no military housing available on this base; however, there are a number of homes available in the area. There is also temporary lodging at local hotels and on base to accommodate the initial need for temporary lodging.

Fort Story

Fort Story is now known as Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Fort Story. This is because the Army base combined with the Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek. This is the nation's premier base for training its expeditionary forces. This base is huge in size, and it is comprised of two separate properties. The military housing on this base is privatized, consisting of 250 homes that are located in Virginia Beach, VA in the Hampton Roads area. The homes have access to the Atlantic Ocean. These homes are managed by Balfour Beatty Communities. There is also temporary base lodging and local hotels to assist with temporary lodging needs.

Henderson Hall

The USMC Henderson Hall has combined with the U.S. Army's Fort Myer in order to form the Joint Base Myer Henderson Hall. The base consists of a number of operations that include the Pentagon, Fort McNair, Henderson Hall, Fort Myer and Crystal City. The base has a number of functions, but its primary function is conducting official ceremonies, locally and globally. There are housing options available in the Portsmouth area, which is in Northern Virginia. The housing is managed by Lincoln Military Housing. Langley AFB

Langley AFB and Fort Eustis have combined to form Joint Base Langley Eustis. Although Langley AFB is now in control of the entire base, the two units are separated by 17 miles. The base is home to Air Combat Command, U.S. Air Force's 633rd Air Base Wing and the U.S. Army's Fort Eustis' personnel. The housing for this base is privatized. There is housing available in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, and housing is comprised of 880 homes located in 10 different neighborhoods. All of the properties are managed by Hunt Military Communities.

Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base

The Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base and the U.S. Army's Fort Story have combined to create the Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Fort Story. This base is considered to be the largest of its kind in the entire world. It serves as the operating station for the amphibious forces of the U.S. Atlantic Fleet. The base is considered to be one command with two properties. The military housing for this base is privatized, with housing being located in Little Creek, VA, which is on the southern shore of the Chesapeake Bay. The housing is managed by Lincoln Military Housing. There is temporary base lodging and local hotels to accommodate the temporary need for lodging.

Mark Center Alexandria

A number of DOD agencies, along with the Washington Headquarters Service make their home at this base. The facility is actually considered to be a part of the Fort Belvoir; however, it is located on the Mark Center property. Norfolk Naval Shipyard

The Norfolk Naval Shipyard is one of the largest shipyards in the entire world. This shipyard is dedicated to the tasks of modernizing, repairing and overhauling submarines and ships. This facility is the largest and most comprehensive industrial facility that is owned by the U.S. Navy. The housing for the shipyard personnel is privatized, with homes for sale and for rent. NRO Chantilly

The facility houses the National Reconnaissance Office, which is responsible for designing, building and operating the nation's reconnaissance satellites. This hospital system is currently the oldest continuously operating hospital system in the U.S. Navy medical system. There is also base lodging and local hotels available to assist the need for short-term lodging.

Quantico Marine Base

Quantico is known as the "Crossroads of the Marine Corps," and it has a number of significant sites on the base, including the National Museum of the Marine Corps, the Quantico National Cemetery and Air-Ground Museum. The base also houses the Marine Corps Officer Candidates School. Additionally the base is the primary training facility for the FBI. The housing for this base is privatized, offering homes with flexible and reasonable terms. There are 1,137 homes that are located in nine different neighborhoods. SCSC Wallops Island

The Surface Combat Systems Center, which is known as "The Battle Group in the Sand," dually located at the Wallops Flight Facility and NASA. UVA JAG School and NGIC Charlottesville

Providing scientific, military and technical intelligence, the National Ground Intelligence Center is a vital support system for the U.S. Army. This informational support provided by this facility is vital to U.S. war efforts. A slight distance away is the Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School. There is no military housing available at either of these locations; however, there are a number of housing options available in the private sector. Yorktown Naval Weapons Station

This huge naval weapons station houses an astonishing 25 tenant commands, including the Marine Corps Second Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team, the Atlantic Ordinance Command, the Fleet Industrial Supply Center Detachment and more. The tenant commands and the station work as a unit to provide technical and logistical support to the Atlantic Fleet. The housing for the Yorktown NWS is privatized, with numerous homes available..
